How we work
A refreshing approach to advice.
Vero comes from the Latin vērō: truly, in truth. Our industry hasn't always told clients the truth. It's the standard we hold ourselves to.
The truth, told clearly
The truth matters because it stops you making costly decisions or taking poor advice. You'll hear what Miles actually thinks, including when it isn't what you hoped. If he believes you're about to make a mistake, he'll say so, with his reasoning in writing, and then help you either way.
Built for you, not for shareholders
Much of our industry is being bought up and consolidated by large groups. Vero is privately owned by Miles, not by a bank, fund manager, product provider, licensee or private equity firm, and our only affiliation is with our licensee, Walker Lane. The advice is shaped around you and your goals, not around a parent company's targets.
A steady hand when markets move
Most costly money mistakes are emotional ones. Markets cycle, and Miles has guided clients through every one of them since 1996, including the GFC and Covid. When things get noisy, he keeps you focused on the long-term plan.
A plan that keeps up with your life
Life rarely sticks to a plan for long. A new job, an inheritance, a sale, the kids leaving home. We review and recalibrate your plan as things change, so it always fits the life you're actually living.
Relationships measured in decades
More than twenty years is not unusual for a Vero client. We look at super, investments, debt, insurance and structure together, and work alongside your accountant and lawyer, so everyone is pulling the same way.
Small by design, with a team behind you
We've stayed small on purpose, because most people want to know they can reach their adviser. Miles answers the phone, or calls you back. Behind him is a hand-picked, experienced team who make sure everything is done properly and on time.

Your first conversation
A conversation, not a pitch.
- 1
A 45-minute conversation. No charge, no obligation, and mostly Miles asking questions.
- 2
If it's a fit, a written proposal setting out the work and what it costs. Nothing starts until you've agreed to it.
- 3
If it isn't, he'll tell you that too, and usually who to call instead.
